A hike with a bit of up.

Old farts are out of shape.... today's hike had a couple hundred feet of elevation change and the good news is there was no huffin/puffin - some rest stops, but it went well.  We are both pleased.

The hike was at chimney rock - local to one of the houses we rented in the past and a trail we know well.  It was not crowded and we took our time - eating lunch - and sitting from time to time

the white spot is where a piece has fallen off and is the natural interior color according to a ranger with air comes the oxidation that turns it red/brown
My fascination with trees that  grow in impossible spots continues
