The lower reaches of Ramsey Canyon.

Since the nature conservancy (which controls access to its preserve) takes a dim view of dogs, and because or reports of icy trails - we went to essentially the same place, just a bit further down the face of the mountain.  It's called Brown's Ranch and starts off level before climbing - eventually I believe, but can not confirm connecting with the trails that start higher up in Ramsey canyon preserve.

No matter it was enough for us - we turned around a mile and an half in  and a gain of 500 feet and probably will go back to venture further later in our visit.

Today, Tuesday we are celebrating Shelley's birthday by a trip to Madira Canyon and its birds, scenery and the adventure of box canyon road to get there....
