On and off trail.

It was cool - in the low 40's - but bright and the sun was very warm.  Once inside the canyon the wind was negligible.

We have a visitor, Judy and Fay canyon is a perfect introduction to the area.  It is a source of fascination for me as there is much more than meets the eye.

Together we did the "usual" hike - and I went back later looking for a trail that goes up to another trail which I aim to take with a friend in a few days high up on the canyon wall.

It's interesting terrain, sometimes foliage is too dense and terrain too rough for direct bushwhacking, at other times more open.  I found game trails and some cairns - small and often fallen but eventually had to turn around.  More exploration is called for.
