Back to the cranes, and they obliged - road runners too.

Today we went back to Whitewater Draw where the Sandhill cranes gather, and after a slow start they put on quite a show.

but first, a duck.  A shoveler .

And then about eleven we heard the cries, an amazing primeval sound.

They came in waves - at first specks over the mountains in the distance.

 A meadow lark too

For once I was able to stop the car turn around and catch this before he disappeared into the bush.  Roadrunners Rule!
