lots of photos below - may take a while to load
The final approach
The younguns got there first.
Good thing we got an early start because the sun was getting strong
and the last climb up to the wave itself was a bit of a huff-puff.
But we were there
There were stunning images everywhere
Originally carved by water, now sculpted primarily by wind
A puddle in the first passage
Shelley climbing to the head of the wave...
Lines, lots of lines....
Way above, an arch
lunch
And there was more...
the sand which carves was occasionally in evidence and made climbing to get views looking down somewhat problimatic
- this was NOT the place to sprain an ankle
and more
Harley bounding down a passage
There was much more to explore, but our fitness level strongly suggested
we consider this enough. We took the hint. At the end we were glad we did
even Harley was tired.
