A quick trip to the rim

The rim

it's important to understand the rim

Mogollon by name - the top layer

volcanic - Basalt = hard

Just north of Sedona it stretches to the grand canyon and beyond It collects and absorbs the  enough of the rain which provides the water for  Oak Creek and other springs and makes things surprisingly green.

16 miles climbing two thousand plus feet looking down into oak creek canyon.

 Sedona 16 miles

Down is operative word.

Neat stuff this were they the sand dunes or lava flows?
can't get there to get a closer look....

A final note: this is the land of fallen rocks -

a question for the theologians/philosophers  - can they be saved?

If there is sufficient interest photos of fallen rocks can be provided

as well as an "adopt a rock" program for those so inclined.
